hey i am the new guy to RPGs but i like them, i have been playing for about 5 years, but that is about 12 games a year, so about 60 games in my whole life. i am part of a group creating an rpg to be the perfect one ever, so universal that the system may be shaped into any type of adventure, the games has been at least 15 years in the making, i started with them about five years ago. i am a ghost head, meaning i like Ghostbusters and all things related, i am an engineer (M.E.) in training, (goofing around in college). i love to hear ideas that others have, because i feel that is what RPGs are all about.
me
you are telling me man
it is hard to be an engineer, i am a decent student, but the instructors are tough! i have to put up with them throwing wrenches at me if i make a mistake. so you have checked out my system idea to eliminate skills? I feel it will make gaming go so much faster, it can really balance a fast paced combat. so outside the being evil thing what is up oh evil 1?
Well currently i am
Well currently i am finishing up the game i have been working on for awhile now. Its a very skill heavy game; so its taking me awhile.
I generally look at rpglab bi daily, not much escapes my eyes here. Tips i have are don't spam, and don't bump topics older then four months unless you made the topic or already have posts in it. Both things irk some of the elite here.
I can flat out tell you Skill deletion will not make a game go so much faster as it will quickly become a dice rolling contest; which is NOT a good thing.
true
true, but with skill aren't you already doing that, if a player can role play their way out of it, then it works, if they don't i'll just add actions, (like skills as needed which is more realistic, if you can do it once, each time you can do it better.) and skills will develope as the game goes, this is not the game i am working on, this is just an idea i am toying with, but you do raise a good point, and i will look into it more, thanks man.

Well thats quite the
Well thats quite the impossible goal. But you can definatly make a good one
