Quick Autobio

I spent about 30 years of my life in London, UK, and following a brief stint in Brighton moved up to Chester with my girlfriend, where we now have a son (and a cat).

I'm a graphic designer, ocassional artist and writer, fan of horror, dark sci-fi and dark humour. I grew up on a diet of rock, and then veered towards electronica, and I'll be lying if I said music didn't preoccupy a lot of my time and push some of my creative buttons.

In 2007, the year I was just starting to get bits and pieces published and had got involved in a project to produce a role-play supplement (a chunky Call of Cthulhu monograph), a taxi-driver decided to pull out in front of my bike. The resultant head injury, and hours of resting time that equates to thinking things over and over, has pushed me towards dreaming up new ideas and achieving lots of new goals. And so, here I am.

Nothin' like a blow to the head...

... I got nothing... I was really hoping to come up with something clever...

Anyways, It's great to have you here. This site has helped me alot with actually putting ideas onto paper and I hope it'll do the same for you.

So, what kind of RPG experience do you have?

Ah, I guess I tend towards

Ah, I guess I tend towards the darker end of the scale. I'm a big fan of Call of Cthulhu since, well, the early 90s, jumped on the World of Darkness bandwagon pretty much from the onset, though I jumped off again when the old World ended, if only to save me buying hundreds of new sourcebooks. I'm also a fan of SLA Industries, Unknown Armies, Feng Shui, bits and pieces from Games Workshop (kind of as a default of being in the UK in the 80s, when they were the source for most US games), Kult, Paranoia, ah... Höl...

I think I've dipped my toe into a lot of the major systems, and having only really discover Indie RPGs over the last year or so I'm finding a whole new world of opportunities. The next items I'm keen to get my teeth into are CthulhuTech and Cold City, but that's dependant on money which I don't currently have... :-)
