How are yous supposed to make them!? I thought this actually had the tools you needed, not just a publishing area????
anyway thanks for answering

And that's exactly what I need

When it started I signed up on the first day. I was very disappointed by the fact, that this is "only" a publishing area. But to tell the truth, this is just what I need right now. This book page system is a great help for me in itself, because it is much clearer to me than editing some dozen txt files, not to speak about the commenting possibilities.

Regarding the "real" tools for RPG design: I recently started a blog here and hope to post some interesting things that are practically helpful in RPG design, GM-ing etc.

The tools are within each and every one of us.

No really, it's true. We are a group of gamers, people who know what they like about games, what systems work and how to develop them. The tools come from all of the suggestions and support we as a group provide for each other. We bounce ideas around and that will help fuel your creative process.

For resources, well just reading some of the books already here will give you a wealth of knowledge ranging from medieval weaponry to space age trigonomentry. Apart from that, every one has got one of more sites which they use to research period weapons, places, names ect as well as things like religions and philosophies, so if your making a game around a particular topic, era or style, there are a multitude of other websites we can point you to.

Finally the publishing area is a great tool. If your not patient or have only bursts of creativity, like I do, it gives you some motivation to get off your arse and add some more, you start to do it for those interested in your game, as well as yourself.

The most important parts of any game are story and characters. Master these and a good game is on its way.
