Quick Question

Just out of curiosity so I don't feel like a pilgrim in an unholy land. What would you say is the average age of the users of said site? I'm only 14 so i'm probably the yoingest user.

The problem is experience not age.

Well I started two years ago when I was 15 and I think the problem wasn't with maturity just with lack of life experience. It's like those young authors, sure they might been prodigies with excellent expression and vocabulary, but what do they know of the world?

So long as you understand what your writing about or have some similair experience you'll be fine. Try not to make a wonderfully complex combat system if you've never been in a fight, go for simple and sweet until you understand what all the factors actually mean. Likewise don't try to create a social game until you've met enough people to know how they tick. The good thing is, it means you'll get better as you get older, not because of age itself, but because of experience.

age

Don't feel alone, I'm 15. Age doesn't really matter though if you love what your doing, right?

My age

I'm 22 years old and I graduated from college a week or two ago!(I'm just excited and adding this where ever I can)

As for the rest of the site, I've got no idea. What I can tell you is that regardless of age, these people know their stuff. They are extremely friendly and happy to give advice on this whole making games thing.

Welcome to the site, Its good to have you here.

Good Variance

I'm in my mid 20s, and represent the rough median of the lab rats. We have a few who played the original D&D when it came out in the 70s, and there are a other High School Students, including one in England.

As to locations, we have across the US, the UK, Brazil, and at least one from Malaysia.

There is a fine line between hobby and obsession. I seem to have lost sight of it some time ago.

Yes, I did play the original

Yes, I did play the original D&D. I'll just find my cane and toddle off to my rocking chair to take my Geritol now.

Teething

I cut my rpg teeth on black book Traveller. There were three of us and an advert from Games Workshop in Hammersmith selling 3 games for 20 quid. One of us got Basic D&D, another got RQ and I got Traveller.

I've still got it somewhere.

Don't forget Australia :)

Though funnily enough, that happens quite a bit :).
