First post, Dimensions-~50%, PokemonRPG(workingtitle) 1%

|

Well, this is the first post then, isn't it? If you've read my bio you know i'm making two games. The first one is "Dimensions" (though the name may be changed later). Dimensions is around 50% done, though i've already played it with a group of friends. Its mostly playable, but some kinks need worked out on the dm side of it; and I need to finish out the charts/pages for the advanced classes. PokemonRPG(workingtitle) is exactly what you think it is. A pen and paper rpg for pokemon. I have considered making it for a few years now, but assumed noone would play with me. Oddly enough, I have found 2 of my regular gamers that are more than enthused about playing it. I JUST started the ball rolling with it last night. I went out and bough the complete national pokedex; which includes every pokemon from r/b/y all the way up to the newest: d/p. First step is organizing the information listed within it for easier access for my purposes.
A bit of a description on both of my games :
Dimensions is a percentile dice based game. The general theme of it is this: There was a tear in the inter-dimensional wall and now it is possible (and required at times) to traverse the multiple dimensions. Not to mention that when the rip occured, it released magic into our world. (The generalistic of the game is set in our time, if not a few years ahead) Spec-wise of it, i have 6 base classes, each having 2 advancements, each advancement having 2 advance, etc. This keeps my players (and myself) from getting too bored with the same character classes. Any whom i've described/played with have throughouly enjoyed it, even if some mentioned i need a bit of tweaking (its a new game, of course it needs tweaking lol).
Being at 50% means i have the base classes finished, as well as the base class skills and spells; a good potion list, a well designed/slightly bad follow-through monster list; a less then well thought out rewards system(throwing 5 or 6 die everytime they finish a battle just to see what they get is a PAIN. Its one of the 'dm kinks'. I still have a long ways to go with this one, but i've gotten a great start, the rest is gravy (if i could get rid of my 'writers block' lol)

PokemonRPG(working title):
I'm designing this to be a bit more of a mature game, but with holds on that child-like innocence pokefans enjoy of the game and show. While its still in the beginning stages, i'm leaning towards the percentile base for this as well, thinking it may work as well (if not better) as dimensions. I already have the world backstory set up (came up with it a few weeks ago) but haven't done much else. My todo list for this is to: Finish organzing pokemon by type, organize attacks by type, and begin organzing the attacks by thier contest type. After i get those done, i'll be working on the basics of the country's lay-out (where gyms are, pokemarts, etc). If i bust my arse, i could probably have this one playable in about a month, given i dont run into any blockades like i did with Dimensions.(Dimensions was origionally going to be D20 Dimensions, but some of the things i wanted to do didn't quite work with a d20, so it was changed to %. Unfortunately, changing all the work i had done on it into a % system proved a bit more stressful than i'd expected). Luckily enough, with the troubles i've hit with Dimensions, the pokemonrpg shouldn't cause me too much grief. But man do i need to find a better name for it. -_-""
