Why do you do this to me?

Can I choose all of the above?

I mean, to me all games can be better in certain situations. I mean I love the freedom of the full blown pen and paper role-playing style. Its great for a small group of creative people to enjoy themselves.

That being said, Board and miniature games are far better for a group of people to have good simple fun. They are easier to learn and require much less preparation.

As for console games, they are my job(or at least my education and hopefully job soon) , my life, and my source of inspiration. Having grown up in Maine, it was hard to find enough people to play an RPG. So consoles allowed me to embark on amazing adventures on my own. That and often then test my skill rather than the roll of a die. I've always loved the feeling that "I'm still alive because I'm that good", instead of "I'm still alive cuz I rolled a 20."

But as you can see, I kinda can't answer the generic question of which is better. It all depends on what you are looking to accomplish with the game and who you are targeting.
