Your virtual brain idea is a nice one - however it would probably still run faster than a physical brain and so be superior in that respect. It would also easily interface with subprograms that could do the typical computer maths stuff for it (more easily than humans can anyway).
As for sex drive - a lot of human emotion is down to hormones rather than neural patterns. Unless the program is simulating the endocrine system as well as the nervous system, the virtual brain will be equivalent to that of a eunuch. (Of course, one may want to program in desires, otherwise you have a completely passive personality with no interest in anything.)
Please don't change anything that you don't want to, but if I have these ideas others will too, so you may want to address them somehow.
