Tactics are what made Icewind Dale 2 so damn fun, carving a swath of death through wave after wave of monstrous hordes. Tactics are what made it so sweet to outwit a lich in a mage's duel, out-maneuver a 6 man mercenary party, or slay Firkraag in BG2.
I knew Bioware would fuck this up without the D&D license. They have a strong lineup however, so I am optimistic that they will improve upon those shortcomings. (Still hoping for a new and improved Jade Empire 2)
What they should do is hook up with Obsidian and Bethesda and make a super-orgasmic RPG. I would buy it without even knowing what the game was about.
Hamstringing the tactics are a deal breaker for me
