2008: The Character Sheet Is The RPG Challenge III

Well, it's that time of the year again... time for another foray into the world of one page RPGs! This time around, I thought we'd have RPG Laboratory be the main site to submit the character sheet RPGs to, though of course 1km1kt is still available to submit your games to

Basically, the challenge is to create an RPG that is entirely contained within one single page, on either one side or two sides. If you want to add an extra twist to this challenge, you can try making the character sheet rpg in a single 24 hour time period. Once your game is made, please submit it here in pdf form (attached to a blog entry for the game) so that the rest of us can play it.

If you participated last time around, please join the fun again, as we got a bunch of cool, easy games out of all the contributors last time. If you haven't participated in one of these challenges, give it a shot, as it is a fun and simple challenge that should result in an interesting game being made in no time. These one page character sheet RPGs are a whole genre unto themselves, so let's expand that genre even more this year.

Here's my fifth submission for this year's challenge

I have now created and submitted the game Iron Caste RPG for the 2008 character sheet RPG challenge.

Unlike my other submissions this year, Iron Caste RPG is not a solo RPG. It is a 'standard' RPG that uses a gamemaster and player characters. The game is set in a medieval fantasy world which has been infested by demons and devils which can only be harmed by iron and magic.

Here's my fourth submission for this year's challenge

I have now created and submitted the game Monster Army RPG for the 2008 character sheet RPG challenge.

This will be the last submission I put in for a while. I'll probably make one or two more character sheet RPGs before the year is through, but for now I am taking a break.

Here's my third submission for this year's challenge

I have now created and submitted the game Graveyard Ghoul RPG for the 2008 character sheet RPG challenge.

Cool to see that others are starting to take part in the challenge slowly but surely. This challenge is a good way to get an interesting collection of simple one page rpgs each year, and am glad to see that is coming along as it is.

Another submission for this challenge has been added to this challenge, the excellent Tales Of Adventure from Noob Healer.

Thanks very much for making this game for the challenge, Noob. It's a cool setting and a cool concept, and I like how you blend using an eight-sided die with a deck of poker cards to create a fun and simple fantasy rpg.

Here's my second submission for this year's challenge

I have now created and submitted the game Dungeon Delvers RPG for the 2008 character sheet RPG challenge.

I seem to be the only one taking part in the challenge so far,but that's fine. It goes on until the year's end, and I'll always submit a few games even if nobody else does. I'm sure somebody else here will join the fun sooner or later, though, as making these one page character sheet RPGs is simple and fun to do. And they are fun and easy to play too! Give Dungeon Delvers RPG a try and you'll see...

I have created and submitted the game Super Crim RPG for the 2008 character sheet RPG challenge.

Besides wanting to start things off with a cool game, I also wanted to show an example of a one page RPG to those here that may not be familiar with them. Please, check out Super Crim RPG if you want to know what this challenge is all about. Or if you just want to play a fun, simple solo RPG!
