The Coming of the Exiles to Anwer

After leaving for reason lost to history the people once again became Exiles and set their gaze back on that ancient homes and the legends that it had become. Eagerly the people built the ships and embarked upon them to journey across the Great Sea.

The journey was dangerous and storms over took the Exile Fleet tearing ships apart and causing some to veer off course. Out of the estimated 100 ships that left only 65 made it to the shores of Anwer.
- Flight of the Exiles

The Exiles were aiming to land at the port city of Sarolas. After the months locked aboard the ships the first siting of land caused many of the people to push to land there. Though loath to veer from the plans the King Therastin and his councilors gave into the people and made landfall.

They established a small outpost called Veryshaven in a bay suitable for the ships to be in out of the way of the winter storms raging around them. Landing parties explored the area near where they landed and found it rocky and not likely to support anything but the barest of crops. Some of the people returned to ships disheartened to hear this information but others persisted and they worked long and hard to build a great hall for them all to sleep in. The winter was cold and the thin walls of the great hall barely held the wind at bay.

King Therastin decided to send the ships with the lightest loads seeking up and down the coast for villages, towns, or even the city of Sarolas.

Equiped with the minimum of supplies and with all speed they sailed along the coast searching for any signs of life.

After more than month of waiting the ships began returning. Most spoke of the land being empty and a few said they found ruins of villages along the coast.

More expeditions were sent out this time with orders to search the villages and possibly leave some of the people there if there was suitable shelter.

History of the Exiles

Here I don't want to make a big deal of. They left because they were escaping a situation they didn't want to be in. What the reasons for this are I don't think will matter but if you have any thoughts or comments on it let me know.
