SpellCaster CardGame Near Complete

|

SpellCaster Basics

Requirements: Graph or hex game mat/paper for a playing field, 2 playing pieces and 2 standard poker decks (52+Joker) or 1 piece and 1 deck for each player.

Set up

Players shuffle their decks.

Burn card -Draw the first card from your deck and place face up next to your deck to create a discard pile. Burn cards help honesty.

Each player Draws a hand of 7 cards.

Spell Preparation:Charge cards by placing them from your hand face down in front of you, creating prearranged spells if possible. You may refer to the spells list. You do not have to Prepare any spells, but you may not continue until your hand equal 5 cards. It is acceptable to achieve this by discarding two cards or by Drawing only 5.(It just is not a good strategy.)This is a rare time when you may Charge more than 1 card or even every card in your hand.

POOF! I Reappear!

After nearly a year I am back. I just logged in and started catching up and I have found, much to my surprise and chagrin, that in my absence, I was read, missed and talked about. Thank you, everyone who read my works (especially those that left comments) or spoke well of me in my absence! It feels strange to me now, looking at the time stamps it has been almost a year's time that has passed that I would simply rather not explain in print. Well, suffice it to say I'm sorry I was gone so long. I really missed everyone here and the excitement of seeing published final projects on 1km1kt.net. It is amazing and encouraging to see how much everyone has done, and how both websites have grown in more than just size, membership or content volume, but also in quality.

Promo for Eudemonia!

this is just an attempt to help out Eudemonia, a game store to find my work and a .pdf download of an advertisement I did for them. I think I did a good job on the ad, it is for Settlers of Catan. Btw, If you're near Berkeley, Ca they are good gaming store with play space. You can find them online at http://www.eudemonia.net.

Dungeoneers RPG

My first Review is Published on 1km1kt!

Thank you again, every one, especially Errin Famiglia, for helping with this review and play test, you may now see the finished product, I Play THE CREATURE OF MURKY COUNTY RPG on the main 1km1kt site! I am very excited and happy. Hopefully this is good for Errin too. Just in case any other newbies feels like they can't do this too let me just say: The process of using this site, before publishing on the main site works, will improve your writing and get your work out there.

Also, maybe I shouldn't mention this, but Keeton is letting me Beta test a way to publish articles and reviews faster on 1km1kt.net. This means (if it works) that you can look forward to more of these reviews and more of your own articles published on the main site faster, with out Keeton working harder. It also means that I will be working even harder to finish reviews of your games.

Hey, small question on submissions to 1km1kt?

|

I notice that there is an area for articles on 1km1kt.net. In order to get my finished pieces such as a couple of my I Play Games! there, do I submit my articles in the same way I do any games submission? I already notice my review gets more reads per day (20 since yesterday evening) just posted under Role-Playing Games in the forums. Hopefully that will add to the popularity of THE CREATURE OF MURKY COUNTY RPG too. If I do get to submit my articles the same way as I do games, then I will totally submit my reviews to 1km1kt.net when they are finished being worked on and commented about here, to get them out there and get an idea of the process for when my game is finally together. Basically, I want to use the lab tools the same way, but with my reviews.(I think I already am sort of) Is that possible?

Paging Relentless96

|

Hi, Aaron. I need your permission to work on my review of your game, I Play MACE! any further. I would also like permission to expand on the rules you have published on 1km1kt and posted here. I've really had a lot of fun with your game, but I need to ask your permission to work on MACE, before I continue. I am almost finished with the rough of Dungeoneers and I would love to devote more time to your game once I have mine submitted to 1km1kt.

I Play Games Request Line

|

A magical thing has happened since I started working on I Play Games! the folks who make the games started asking me to play the games. So, in celebration of Fire Works Day I am starting The I Play Games! Request Line. If you have made a game and you want me to post a play record and review to I Play Games!, I will. If you want my opinion on any game just ask.

evolution of my game idea

I have decided for the time being that when I do the character class/abilities I will follow Aaran "Relentless96" White's advice and use the same progression as I used for my tables: d4,d6,d8,d10,d12.

My main decisions on this next is target numbers. I am of two minds.Either I could say that the d12 is the strongest and roll high. That could make combat resolution easy.Subtract low from high and the difference is damage comes to mind. That would make lvl V d12 characters powerful. The other way is to make the d4 the strongest and roll low.As you make your way from d12 down, you remove chances for your failure and increase your odds of success.
