9.2.1 Swords

9.2.1.1 Swords of Araby

Kopis

The kopis is a shortsword with a downward curve and a thick heavier end, making it ideal for striking from horseback. Their damage is usually d12, but this increases to d20 when striking from a galloping horse. A kopis will not penetrate armour easily (+1), and is difficult to parry with (-5).

Scimitar

The scimitar is a longer, thinner version of the kopis. It's light weight and curved blade make it well suited for slashing from horseback and it holds up in a regular swordfight. It's damage when striking from combat is D20, and in regular combat is d12.
