So I have almost got the next bit of Peer Pressure straight in my head for posting, but I can't quite settle on a resolution system. What will basically happen is that character's will roll 'Cool' against each other, that value being adjusted by things like clique, class and hobbies. I also want players to have to put something on the line in conflicts, like happens in a playground, where a bully gets shown up, are the class clown is not the one cracking the jokes.
What I need is a resolution mechanic that feels like a plaground kind of thing. Dice would suffice, as would cards, but I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas?
Cheers
Iain

Tried Fudge?
Have you considered Fudge the rpg? It uses a scale of difficulty with special "Fudge" dice. The beauty of the system is the fact that the trait levels can be renamed however you want. One suggestion to support the school theme would be to change them to grades, as below
F = Terrible
E = Poor
D = Mediocre
C = Fair
B = Good
A = Great
S = Superb
If you don't know what Fudge is, here is the link.
