Manhattan Project

I need help with making a game I thought of. Heres the story,
A family of Doris, Dante, Corey, And Edmund(Eddi) Manhattan
find themselves in the middle of a war between demons and millions of alien races. You can play as all of them. They are also the military's most advanced fighters. Doris is a special ops and specializes in stealth and hacking(Need a hacking minigame of some sort) Dante Is an investigator who finds clues to find out what exactly their up against and why they are here. Corey Is a sergeant major inhanced with the chemical called S.E.S.(Strength enhancement system along the lines of Terracorps) he can command his troops Corey Is a mech driver(Dont worry he's a commander
we just need something along the lines of super robot taisen) Who can eliminate almost any pilot. But the plot thickens as Dante soon informs the military the thing they are up against is supernatural. They have millions of alien races on their side to fight this unknown foe.
I don't know how to actually make the game I'm still kinda learning the basics so I need lots of help!

Also I am currently working on the character sketches for dialogue boxes.
I'm aware this game is really difficult to make It has a very intense storyline as it goes on.

*changes voice to sound like chainsaw aardvark*

Well first off, what system are you planning to use

second off, how many players are you suggesting?

third off, how do you want combat handeled?

Fourth off, any flavor systems you plan to use? (Crafting, spying, stuff like that)

Decker Problem

Sounds like an interesting back story, an epic conflict and a good chance of becoming a game worth playing.

One element of caution though. You mention hacking minigame. Most cyber-punk table top rpgs fail in that regard - because its time for one specially equipped/trained player to shine while the others sit around with nothing to do. In Cp-2020 this is even worse as A)It takes only a few seconds "game time" (and quite a bit of real time) so the others can't do other stuff while it happens - and B)It splits up the party with some doing stuff, and another strapped to a computer line.

Perhaps if each is a unique place, they have avatars that reflect their abilities - thus everyone is needed, even in the computer world.

Then again, net running is based on a somewhat obsolete metaphor (more akin to raiding a BBS than surfing the web) and is more to make it visually interesting for non-computer geeks. Of course, a deliberately reto setting could be quite interesting

I should ask - are you thinking computer game, where a single player controls all the characters, an RPG where each person has one pre-made PC, or are the Manhattans simply archetypes/bosses to the players?

Thanks Evil1. I've been a bit depressed and uncreative as of late (Unemployment and a grandmother's death will do that...) but the credit you give me is a nice pick-me-up.

There is a fine line between hobby and obsession. I seem to have lost sight of it some time ago.

No problem!

In the time i have been here, you have done nothing but help people with good ideas. I think your a great person on here and very creative to boot.

Keep on chainsawing
