Well I am not dead

I did not believe anyone thought so but I wanted a catchy title. Anyway I am still around and still work on my games, unfortunately I am also now running my own business and that eats up almost all of my time. I usually only have time to think about my games with a few minutes a week to actually work on them.

Well I now find myself with a little more time on my hands...finally, si I thought I would begin posting some again. How frequently I have no idea, but I have a tablet on the way so maybe I can squeeze some stuff out more often.

My most recent thoughts have been on BIG BEERS, small pretzels. back when I hade a small but active yahoo group we where discussing the probabilities of beer cap randomizers. By my testing I feel that a cap has a roughly 25% chance of landing face up. The aerodynamics of a cap tends to want to land face down. I am remulling over how much this will affect the game. I already include pretzels for rethow option. Given how many rethrows a player is allowed is only dependant on how many pretzels they have...and how full their bellies are. DO I need to change anything at all.

Working on BIG BEERS, small pretzels

One of my hundreds of little side projects has been to write some adventures for BBsp. I have started a yahoo group to develop and test them out.

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/bbspgroup

I have a couple ready to go. Now if I can only find some suckers to join....

ARRGGHH! Matey

For some time now I have been working on a pirate supplement for Dice Chucker. The idea is typical of DC, carttony and tongue-in-cheek in nature. By no means is this document finished but I thought I would post it here and see if I could get some feedback on it.

As well I am starting a play by post game using this supplement at www.rondaksportal.com.

A new worlds-lite setting: Steampunk

So I have started a new worlds-lite setting for Chi. This one is a dark/western steampunk-ish thing. The setting is the Cresent Valley, an isolated area of the american west. Where a meteor crashed 10 years ago scattering strange dark crystals across the valley. The crash revealed several deposits of silver, iron, and coal and as such a modest rush has occurred.

I am still working out the exact nature of the crystals but the cause mutations and yeild strange powers. I am kinda leaning the magical route for the powers as opposed to the superpower/pyschic route, mayeb I will do both.. spellcastin', psychic cowboys YEEEEEEHAWWW!

A comprehensive solo rpg?

Man sometimes living in the sticks is hard. I am wanting to do some rp'ing and do not have a live group. SO hey I will play online, so far no takers, not many out their that want to play online using an obscure indie ruleset... sad

So why not play a solo rpg ok great...not many out there. I have written one called Dungeon Plungin' but it is more meant for table top paper mini players (which I am also..) What I would like is a solo rpg that is fairly comprehensive yet rules lite...if such a thing is possible.

How to create an AI GM that can be used to create plot, enemies, NPCs, and treasure and weave them all together in a fun game?

Big Beers, small pretzels... revamp

Well I have removed BBsp from the server I am revamping it...I think, and am considering attempting to publish it under a new imprint I am doing on the side appropiately called, psydeshow. Before I do anything I want to do some online playing so once again I am seeking volunteers. This will be a short of online game/discussion group. I will be using the core for All Faeries Must DIE!! in the game.
I will be creating a forum to run the game(not going to use a online gaming site.) I am currently looking for a decent online dice roller with email option so if anyone knows of any good ones let me know please.

PDF writer?

Hi all I am looking for a new pdf writer. I lost mine(Acrobat Printer) sometime back when I upgraded my computer. Anyway I still use pagemaker and I tried using cutePDF with it but it does not work right. SO here is what I am looking for: It must be free and function with the acrobat pagemaker format.

If that is not possible could someone suggest a free layout and pdf maker combo.

I appreciate any suggestions yall have.

All Faeries Must DIE!!

....What if the good natured faerie folk of the world waged a war to bring peace and happiness to the world. What if they won? They forced everyone to be happy or be erased from existance. People live to lives suffering on the inside, and all smiles on the outside. The faeries either killed or converted all the heroes of the Kingdom, so now your only hope for salvation is all the darker creatures of the world, unable to be affected by the powers of the faeries....

This is just a very rough stage setting idea I am working on for BIG BEERS, small pretzels. The silliness of the system really needs a off the wall setting.

Looking to play online

Hi all I have been itching to run some of my games for awhile now. I was hoping I might recruit some players here or at 1km1kt. I have two already started and seeking players at www.rondaks-portal.com. One is a Nook game using the Chi rules, the other is a tongue in cheek game of soem rednecks captured by aliens using my Big Beers, Small Pretzels system. I am also open to running a Dice Chucker game got some ideas for that, atronauts and/vs. cavemen, a star furry game. I would also be interested in running my Soul Surivior game for Quique. If anyone is interested and we can settle on som

Magic in Nook

I am trying to come at magic in Nook in a new idrection...well for me anyway. In most video rpgs magical power is numeric. The number oges up with healing and goes down in defined increments according to which spell is cast. I want to change this.

The spells in Nook are still finite. This spell that has X affect always costs N in energy. I am making the energy available variable. The player will have to roll to gather energy for a spell. This is of course afffected by conditional modifiers. A character may not be able to get enough energy for a spell, or run the risk of getting too much energy.
