The Wild Weird West RPG, another one page RPG

|

I've made yet yet another character sheet RPG for this year. The Wild Weird West RPG is a western style gunslinger game with fantasy and horror elements. It is a solo game wherein the player takes the role of a a gunslinger exploring a wild west of weirdness and magic.

For a long while I've thought of a western RPG that includes the mystical and the horrific among the usual mundane western elements. When it came time to make another character sheet RPG, I decided to flesh out the idea in solo game form.

Enjoy!

Peace, Errin : )

Vanguardians RPG, another one page character sheet RPG

|

I've made yet another character sheet RPG for this year. Vanguardians RPG is a one page RPG about a group of eight futuristic guardians protecting their domed city from the alien invasion spewing forth out of an interdimensional rift nearby. Besides two six-sided dice, the game also uses a deck of poker cards, with each card represents a different wave of the invasion that your vanguard must defend against. The odds and numbers are stacked against you, but you still have more than a fighting chance thanks to the special abilities of your guardians.

I am very happy overall with how this game came out. It's rules are pretty basic and straightforward, but with enough variables to keep things dynamic from start to finish. I'm also happy to get a futuristic RPG done, as I don't often work in that genre when it comes to gamemaking. I was always a big fan of the Palladium game 'Rifts', and this game is inspired by it.

Tabletop Kingdom RPG, another one page RPG

|

I've made another one page character sheet RPG for this year. Tabletop Kingdom RPG is a one page RPG representing a fantastic kingdom ruled by a royal leader. This solo game allows a player to run a virtual fantasy realm from their very tabletop, employing adventurers from throughout the land to combat the creatures and endure the events that make the difference between a kingdom that ends in a fallen state or a kingdom that evolves into a Utopian society. All using just pencil, paper, and a six-sided die...

I'm really happy with how this game turned out. It's one of the cooler one pagers I've made throughout the years. I hope fans of sole RPGs and/or one page RPGs give this one a shot and see how it goes.

Super Squad! RPG, a new character sheet RPG for 2010

|

Well, after a very looooooonnnnnnnnngggg absence here and at 1km1kt, I am back, and with a new one page RPG no less...

Super Squad! RPG is a very simple solo RPG wherein you create a squad of six super heroes to do battle with a squad of six super villains created at random. Check it out if you like simple super hero games.

I made this one from scratch in a couple hours, as I wanted something simple and spontaneous to start the ball rolling on me making some more character sheet RPGs. Who knows... I may turn it into a challenge if there are enough interested participants here and at 1km1kt. Time will tell! : )

BattleBoard Blog

|

Hello, fellow RPG Lab rats. I have just put up in book form here a fantasy boardgame I created called BattleBoard.

BattleBoard is a make-it-yourself boardgame using a chess board and 200 cards made out of poster board. In BattleBoard, two players vie to capture the other's King space using Battlers and Magics that they summon to do battle on the board. It is a simple game, but can take a while to win. If anybody wants to check out the game and give some feedback here at this blog, it'd be much appreciated. Enjoy!

Aardvark 09 Projects

Its been a while since I've produced anything. Far too long has I sat unproductive. Far too long has this site been silent.

Well, that is going to change. I have a bevy of new Dead and Back stories to share. After years of thinking about it, Production of "Gangland Triage" has begun.

I'm also doing a couple of 24 hour games this year. The first page added to this book is going to be one I recently finished.

Enough time has been wasted, lets see what we can accomplish.

Iron Caste RPG for the 2008 RPG Lab character sheet challenge

|

Here is my fifth (and possibly final) submission for the 2008 Character Sheet Is The RPG Challenge III.

This time around, instead of making my usual solo kind of one page RPG, I decided to make a 'standard' RPG that uses a gamemaster and player characters.

Iron Caste RPG takes place in a medieval fantasy world which has been invaded by a large number of demons and devils. These demonic foes can only be harmed by iron weaponry and arcane magic, so the race of man has formed four castes skilled in such weapons and magic: The Justiciar Caste, The Scoundrel Caste, The Mystic Caste, and The Warlock Caste.

oh dear

such a fool, I accidentally deleted this. Anyway as I said before I'm much more pleased with La Petite Sorcière then the previous suburban warfare game. It tells the story of a young Witch named Ixis Stiks as she tries to become a famous spell caster and earn the respect of her magic schools head master. I may do a few more of these then switch over to a more traditional RPG setting. use Noobhealers rules and enjoy!

Monster Army RPG for the 2008 RPG Lab character sheet challenge

|

Here is my fourth submission for the 2008 Character Sheet Is The RPG Challenge III.

Inspired by the game King Of The Tabletop (which later became expanded into Kings & Things*), Monster Army RPG represents a ragtag militia of monsters on a war campaign to conquer the lands that make up the fantasy world in which they dwell.

I really like how this one turned out, and will be taking a break from making any more one page RPGs for the time being. I may end up adding another game or two before the year ends, but for now I have contributed enough to this year's challenge.
