The Great Hamster Rebellion

There's a 24-hour RPG contest going on at 1K Monkeys 1K Typewriters, and being an All Around Rodent Person, of course I was inspired by one of the titles in the subject list: The Great Hamster Rebellion. Here is the result of those 24 hours.

Sadly, it's not quite complete. This was in part due to a family emergency but also the fact that the many fine ideas I had did not mesh very well, and I kept changing my mind about my approach and so wasted a lot of time.

What it does have is character creation & experience rules, a character sheet, a little bit of combat that I'm frankly ashamed to have my name on, and what I feel is (the beginnings of) a killer setting.

Hopefully, I'll be able to revisit the Hamster Rebellion in the future and spruce up a bunch of things, especially the combat rules and some of the martial arts stuff, and add some campaign notes that I already have thought out but had no time to write up.

Maybe once I've done the same to Haven...

Master Keeton

In Mandarin Chinese, Ke'etong means "sanctioned evil of the Tong clan". I was going to use it for a kung fu duel game, but you can use it if you ever write a revision, since I'm not into writing kung fu games lately.

Maybe I could write a game about Cahokia instead.

"Sanctioned Evil of the Tong

"Sanctioned Evil of the Tong Clan"? XD Now that's so appropriate that it borders on the scary. Thanks for enlightening me - that's one more incentive to get a move on with revising TGHR!

A game about Cahokia sounds intriguing in the extreme. You might want to consider making it a 24-hour RPG - whether or not you submitted it for the competition going on. For my own part, I find that the challenge and the time frame really get my creativity going.
